Sibshops: Siblings of Adoptees and Special Needs Children
We wanted to offer a safe space for brothers and sisters of individuals who have been adopted or who have special health (i.e. cancer and other health impairments), mental health and developmental needs (ie. autism, down’s syndrome).
Sibshops will provide brothers and sisters of children with an adoption history or special needs an opportunity to meet other siblings in a relaxed, recreational and therapeutic setting.
We will have play, based recreational activities as well as therapeutic activities focused on expressing emotion expression (i.e. art activities, sandtray expression, large group games, and discussion).
