I am committed to navigating many familial issues such as bonding/attachment, conduct disorder, school adjustment difficulties, single -parenting, relationship conflict, societal bias, and loss of affirmations. As a collaborative-narrative family therapist, I assist individuals and families in relieving anxiety, stress, and in making the necessary changes to enrich their lives. I find it an honor to walk with families endeavoring to make a change. I provide trauma-informed therapeutic interventions with teens, families, and individuals.
I have a Master of Science degree in Family Therapy. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My educational background also includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. I have many years of experience working with high conflict families providing parenting coordination services implementing and monitoring safe, workable parenting plans, and reducing conflict in families. I have also taught in elementary schools and worked with children and adults with physical and cognitive challenges. I am an adoptive parent, and I have experience developing support groups for multiracial families and those experiencing transracial adoptions. I am an EMDRIA Approved EMDR therapist working toward certification. I am a Play Therapist, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapist and a Trauma and Grief Component Therapist for Adolescents.
I affirm the lived experience of minority populations and in examining those experiences within systemic racism. I work to provide a safe space to engage in meaningful, productive dialogue about diversity and inclusion. Change is possible.
